  Dr Abdu performed an emergency carotid endarterectomy; she was assigned by St Joseph's to do so. I was in no condition to make another choice and naively I went ahead with it. The treatment I received at St Joseph's ICU was bad enough, but nothing compares to the way I was treated by Western Neurosurgery. Dr Abdu acts a high strung diva like doctor with a rather explosive temper, and her assistant is right in hand with several pages of paperwork to release her from liability. She had the nerve to call me from the surgical room where she was doing a procedure to scream at me because the nurse at ICU, who actually was mistreating me was circulating rumors that I was a difficult patient. My family, out of state and abroad were denied telephone access to me and my ex husband in Florida was trying to move me to another hospital at no avail. The rumors did not stop there, and her office staff took the opportunity to treat me even worse , cancelling a follow up appointment day before, cancelling appointment as I was waiting for the doctor, telling me they did not accept my insurance, making me get a referral from my PCP when it was not needed, and then the cherry on top of the cake Dr using my appointment time to scold me instead of discussing my ultrasound and playing ignorant to my questions. Additionally she accused me of physically roughing up her staff! As unbeliable as this may sound that is exactly what they did; they created a spin which I believe was to distance themselves from possible errors in the surgery. As a consequence of her surgery, I am suffering agonizing asphyxiating spams in my neck, no other surgeon or neurosurgeon in Tucson will attempt to repair what she did. I was in the hospital more than usual for such a procedure and the length of the incision baffles other doctors.In addition her office keeps circulating even more rumors to the Doctors that are following up, Dr Abdu would no return calls to the physical therapist...Do they know something went wrong?
